"Fuck!" Anna awoke from her dream. Something was happening to Jeremy. She just knew it.
A shiver ran through her. Tyler. He was with Tyler. It was like a sixth sense. It disgusted her. But it was true. Tyler wanted Jeremy for himself.
It didn't make sense to her. Why would he? Wasn't Jeremy his enemy? She hugged herself. All this time, she hadn't even thought of werewolves. They had been brought here to sniff out the vampires. Hadn't they? That's what this was all about.
She cringed at the thought that Tyler would take Jeremy in and make him one of them.
She shook her head, no. This couldn't be happening. It couldn't.
Anna wanted Jeremy for herself. Why hadn't she turned him, already? She had no choice now. She went to her mother's room then to look through her jewelry box. Thats where she kept the day-after rings of all her old lovers. Naturally, her mother had had quite a few and when they turned to ash, she always kept the rings as if they were her lucky charms.
"What are you doing?" Ben awoke then from his very deep sleep. Naturally, her mother had wore him out and left him in the buff. Who would be able to keep up with a mistress like her who was old as time, yet had the stamina of a New York City call girl.
"Nothing." She hung on to the black ring for Jeremy.
"She won't even give me one of those." Ben looked at her barely under the covers.
"Because, she wants you all to herself." Anna supposed.
"Yeah, I guess so. To bad we can't have baby vamps." He smiled.
Anna almost laughed. What kind of vampire was he? "You really love my mother, don't you?"
"You know, a vamp can't give birth?" She winced. What a nasty thing that would be.
"Yeah, I got it. I'm not stupid." He winced.
She couldn't stop staring at his beauty.
"Look, I'm sure if you remain loyal to her, and be the gentelman she wants, yet the stallion you are in bed..I'm sure you'll have a ring in no time. But I need this one. I have to have it. So be quiet about it, will you?" Anna couldn't stand here and gawk. She needed to find Jeremy, now.
